But the 1990 remake is equally as good and gives the film a much needed face lift. RE4 is a better overall game, the remake is very different, the combat systems are completely different and more detailed, but not better imo. Start with the original to get the true re4 feel, then play the remake and see the difference.

RE 2 is a matter of preference, I think they made some things better and some things worse. The vast majority are going to prefer the new RE 2.
In the remake department, i Consider resident evil 1 remake to be the best and one of the rare instances where a remake completely overshadow the old game and completely replaced him in basically ALL aspects. It gives the same experience but more, its like the better and perfected version of the old game by the same creator.
